Future 50 company, Softley Events, is proud to announce that it has teamed up with Ormiston Children & Families Trust and Sennowe Park to help host a unique event to raise funds for the East Anglian based charity.
Launched in the EDP recently, 'Walk With A Fork' is an eight-mile sponsored walk - with a twist. Covering the picturesque grounds surrounding Sennowe Park - the beautiful Edwardian home of Thomas Albert Cook - participants are invited to explore some of Norfolk's most beautiful countryside on a sponsored walk. However, this walk comes with a food-based twist! As participants walk through the estate, they will be greeted by some of the finest food and drink Norfolk has to offer, with food stops and stalls celebrating some of the county's mouth-watering produce, greeting them as they complete their walk.
The team at Softley Events has called in as many favours and pulled as many strings as they can from their suppliers and contacts, to involve and engage some of Norfolk’s finest chefs from restaurants and catering establishments across the county. As a result, the event promises to be a culinary delight as well as a fun day out raising money for charity.
The deserving charity is Ormiston Children & Families Trust, which offers a range of services to support children, young people and their families in East Anglia. From its base in the centre of Norwich, the trust offers a range of accredited parenting programmes and one-to-one support to parents and carers living in the city. In addition, the trust has a Family Intervention Project in Great Yarmouth which works intensively and on a long-term basis with families who have multiple, complex and entrenched needs, as well as working in three prisons in the county, supporting children and families who are coping with the impact of a relative’s imprisonment. Ormiston has also recently launched 'Point 1', a new mental health service in Norfolk aimed specifically at children and adolescents.
Sarah Softley, Director of Softley Events, said:
"Softley Events has always been passionate about supporting young people here in Norfolk, so when we were approached to sponsor this fantastic event and help raise funds for the Ormiston Children & Families Trust, we had no hesitation in becoming a part of this wonderful day".
Located in the heart of Norfolk just outside the picturesque village of Guist and built by the grandson of Thomas Cook, the famous originator of modern day travel and founder of his namesake travel firm, Sennowe Park is arguably one of Norfolk's finest Edwardian country houses. The magnificent family home was launched as an exclusive location for events in June last year and is exclusively managed by Softley Events, so this fantastic fundraising event is a rare opportunity to explore the grounds of the stunning estate.
The walk will take place on Sunday 6th October and costs just £10 to participate, along with a commitment of raising over £25 sponsorship. More details can be found at www.ormiston.org/walkwithafork or by calling 01473 705030 and the closing date for registration is Monday 30th September.
Sarah Softley, Director of Softley Events, added:
“This really is a perfect day out for anyone who loves Norfolk - what better combination is there than the stunning Norfolk countryside and the incredible food that is produced right here in our doorstep.”
