On 15th April, Wymondham Rugby Club hosted its Annual Fundraising Dinner, which has firmly established itself as one of the highlights of the Norfolk social calendar.
The 405 guests who attended the evening enjoyed a 3 course dinner before a key note speech from guest speaker, William "Will" Greenwood, MBE and English former rugby union player who played for Leicester Tigers and Harlequins, as well as being a member of the 2003 World Cup-winning squad. Guests on the night also included English female rugby union player Sophie Hemming, who represented England at the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup and the evening was presided over by Master of Ceremonies, Roger Dakin who had guests roaring with laughter with his anecdotes.
As well as an opportunity for players and supporters of one of the county’s biggest clubs to get together, the Annual Fundraising Dinner is also a key fundraising opportunity for the club and this year was no exception, with over £8,000 being raised to secure the on-going success of the club.
Returning for the seventh consecutive year as organiser and one of the event sponsors was the region’s premier event management company Softley Events.
Sarah Softley, Director of Softley Events, said:
“Softley Events is delighted to continue our relationship with Wymondham Rugby Club and we are so pleased that the Players Dinner continues to go from strength to strength. It is wonderful to see so much being raised for the club, as well as players and supporters enjoying a fabulous evening. We look forward to continuing to be part of this wonderful occasion in the coming years.”
